The wonderful world of the WWW

I've mentioned before that the online magazine Lonny is one of my favorite monthly reads.  Well there seems to be an exploding trend in the online magazine arena and I'm loving every minute of it.
I've always been a sucker at the check out line in the grocery store or convenience stand in the airport for picking up countless magazines ranging from trashy gossip to elegent design.  Unfortunately this habbit was starting to create a large dent in my wallet and A LOT of clutter at my house!
(I have baskets of magazines all over my house, it's not ok)

So online magazines make me smile becase
A.They're FREE and B.They're so satisfying!

Two new online magazines launched in just the past week or so  and they also happen to be authored by two of my favorite bloggers!  If you have some time you'll have to check them out:

I tip my hat and thank you for some fun new reading material!

Measure twice...cut once

The bedroom is painted and looks fantastic (minus a few mishaps on my ceiling/wall edging I need to touch up)
I went with Benjamin Moore Wish

It's a perfectly soft and soothing.  It doesn't lean too much towards the blue family or the tan family, just a really nice pure grey tone!

The mirrored doors on the other hand are taking a tad longer than expected.
Ya know the old saying, measure twice, cut once.  Well my mantra should be more like measure 5 times, mark your cut spot, then go back and measure a few more times.  Needless to say I cut all my trim pieces an inch too short.  ARRRRRGGGG!!!

I'm hoping to have it done in a few days, Bryan might kill me if I don't put the closet doors back up soon.

Inspiration...

I LOVE this

I'm talking about the mirrors on the doors.  I've decided I'm doing this to my closet doors.  I don't have four, just two.  I also don't have the cool wood plank wall, but I still think it will help bounce some light around our dark room and help make it appear a little bigger.

Oh, I'm going to paint also.
Wish me luck :-)

I'm a Feature!!!

I hope you'll take a moment to go sneak a peak at one of my favorite blogs called

Oh, you want to know the reason why I ask you to go look there...

Because Grey Dog Designs is FEATURED, that's why!

You all know I love DIY projects and that's what Remodelaholic is all about.
Cassity features DIY projects from bloggers all across the country as well as some of her own endeavors!
The projects range from BIG to small, but I always find them interesting!

I hope you'll take a quick minute to go visit her blog...and if you really love me, you'll leave a nice little note about how amazing my kitchen is afterwards!

Slow start to the new year

I wish I could say I have a fabulous project to show you which would explain my recent absence...
and while I can say I have been SUPER busy, unfortunately not super busy in the home project area.
Bryan, Grey Dog and I took a trip up to NJ over Christmas to visit with my family and extended the stay longer than expected due to a blizzard!!  While shoveling 2+ feet of snow wasn't high on my list of things to do on vacation, it was nice to have a little extra time to spend with family and friends that we don't get to see often!

Once we finally made it back to NC I quickly developed a cold, which quickly turned to a nasty cough and eventually developed into fever, chills and the sweats.  So while we had a nice evening with great friends on New Years Eve, I took a turn for the worse after the ball dropped and spent the start of 2011 in bed!

So I'm just starting to get my head back on straight after the fun of the holidays and haze of the flu...or maybe it was the haze of holidays and resting with the flu...

Anywho, I'm working on updating my project list and it keeps growing and growing!!!
(shhhh, just don't tell Bryan, he thinks it only has one item on it!!)

In the mean time, here are some pictures from the last few weeks.  I'll be back soon with some recent changes to the living room and the current cushion project underway!
Happy New Year!!

 Shoveling out the car
Family Picture
Grey Dog ran for hours in the snow!
Then he slept for hours on my parents leather couch.  Only a grand-dog could get away with this!
We had a delicious New Years Eve feast thanks to Nick and Jenn
Matt & Paige's daughter Lillian was a party animal on her first New Years Eve celebration
Just some sweet snuggles from my favorite pup

There's lot's of fun projects to come in 2011 so stay tuned!!
