1-2-3 months!

I'm going to make a very clique statement,
I can't believe my baby is 3 months old today!!!

Time really is flying, and I'm trying my best to savor every moment even though that's easier said than done!  I just can't believe how much joy Charlotte brings to Bryan and I every single day!  Her little smile melts my heart, her frown and cry break my heart a little and I even kind of enjoy the new octave she has reached in her screeching ability.  I do not believe Gunnar is a fan however.
The best part is that each new day is more fun than the last!

OK, I'm done being a complete mush fest.
Since I was such a slack ass the first few months and didn't post any pictures, I'll add her one and two month pics as well.

I just had to share a picture of the fancy pants she's wearing today!  I thought it only appropriate to wear a fun pair of pants on your 3 month birthday!

In other news, our first child is having some difficulties adjusting to his little sister, and things have only taken a turn for the worse since I returned to work.
He may look innocent, but don't let those puppy eyes fool you!

To say he's jealous at this point would be an extreme understatement.  We've always had some issues with Gunnar counter surfing and eating whatever he can get his jowls on, but he's becoming much more brazen about it these days.  Nothing is safe anymore.
In a week alone he devoured two meat and cheese appie platters, a colander of raw chicken, a bag of broccoli and a bag of gummy bears.  There was probably more but that's what comes to mind at the moment.  OH, and he's also learned how to open our locking diaper pail.
Enough said.

We've called in reinforcements.  Gunnar's going to bootcamp!
Hopefully the dog trainer we're calling in can help us eliminate some of the bad habits he has.  The last thing I need is another chewing gum or tylenol incident!

Absent but not gone...

Obviously the blog has taken a back seat to life recently, but I'm going to do my best to start with the updates again!
Here's where we are today: I'm officially back at work full time...which kinda stinks but also kind of makes me feel a little normal again.  Charlotte is staying with a super sweet family during the day who we're all growing to love and then she'll start at a small in home day care in September.  She is doing just fine with all the changes...I'm taking a little longer to adjust.  BUT, I know in the long run all will be just fine!
She is 12 weeks old today and changing by leaps and bounds every day!!  My mom, who we are referring to as BeeGee, is down staying with us for a few days while Bryan is in Colorado for work.  Starting back to work full time and being along with Charlie for the first time all at once was a little intimidating to me.  Thankfully mom didn't hesitate to come offer a helping hand!  We thank her!!

Charlotte seems to have discovered her "voice" or at least the range of it the past few days.  Here she is exercising her lungs...
I could just eat her up!!
OK, that's all I have for today.  Hopefully it won't be 2 months before I do another update!!

Introducing Charlotte Murphy Coble

Charlotte Murphy Coble (AKA - Charlie) arrived on April 24, 2012 at 5:38pm weighing 7lbs 12oz and measuring 20.5" long.
She is pure perfection in our eyes!!!

Bryan and I arrived at the hospital at 7:30am to begin the process of induction.  Everything went fairly smoothly for the most part...the epidural did take a little while to start working completely which made for an interesting hour or two, but once it fully kicked in we were smooth sailing.
One shock came when the doctor checked to see how far dilated I was (I was only 5cm about two hours earlier) and to all of our surprise he stated "oh, you're at 10cm!!  Time to push!"
I'm pretty sure I turned to Bryan at that moment and said "I'm not sure if I'm mentally prepared for this quite yet!"  But I had no choice, she was ready!
Side note: The doctor that was on call, Dr. McKenzie, was one of my favorites so we were very happy to see him that morning!
We pushed for about an hour.  We all took one last guess as to the sex towards the end and me, Bryan, our nurse and Dr. McKenzie all guessed Boy!  A few pushes later, out came baby and right in front of my face she appeared and I said "oh my God, it's a girl!!"
We couldn't be happier!  Bryan is over the moon and SO SO SO excited to have a daughter!  He has said to me a few times "I'm so glad it was a girl".  Charlie and I are already scheming on how to get daddy to buy us nice things :)
So, we have just been adjusting to our new life at home with 3, I mean 4.  Gunnar is adjusting too.  My mom was here for a week which was a blessing!  She was more help than she'll ever know!  Now today Bryan is back at work, mom has gone home and it's just Charlie girl and myself!
We're getting ready to go on a little walk so I'll end with some pictures for now, which I know is what everybody really wants to see!  I'll do my best to keep updating often, but time does slip away from me easily these days!

40 Weeks...UNBELIEVABLE

Well.
I'm still here, and baby is not.

Here's a direct quote from my doctor upon entering my exam room this past Tuesday
"Why are you still pregnant!?!"
Good question doc!  I was hoping you could shed some light on that for me!
Even the doctors are stumped.  I'm almost 3cm dilated and about as effaced as I'll get without going into labor and the baby is apparently as low as it'll get without going into labor.
At this point, I'm just doing what I can to try and stay as comfortable as possible...not easy.

This will most definitely be my last weekly post before baby though because they have scheduled me to be induced on Tuesday morning if baby decides to keep being stubborn.  So, if nothing else, the baby will be here within the next 5 days!!!

So here we go with the LAST preggo updates!

Size of baby:On average 20 inches long and about 7 1/2 lbs...like a small pumpkin.  Really?!?!

What I miss:  Not being pregnant.

Best Moment this week: It was great to hear things have progressed more, but at this point it doesn't carry much weight.

What baby likes AKA cravings:Anything I want!!!  I don't have to weigh myself again and I just don't care anymore.  If I want it, I'm eating it.

Movement:  Enough to let me know it's still in there...and it's a strong little baby!  The kicks and jabs almost hurt these days!

Sleep:  More than usual because I have embraced melatonin.  Between the discomfort, the need to use the bathroom every hour, and my anxiousness growing I had to resort to something to help me get a little bit of rest!  I still get up every 2 hours or so to use the bathroom, but I feel like the sleep I'm getting is at least a little better.

Looking Forward to: I'll give you one guess...meeting our sweet baby in the next few days!!

Picture: I'm so ready put some pictures of the baby and not my belly soon!!

Gunnar is squeezing in as much cuddle time as possible these days...

And here is where you can find me a lot of the time...lying in bed!!  Anything for a little comfort!

Tonight we're heading out for a little beach music festival to see if we can't dance the baby out!
Ok ok, I'll probably be doing more bouncing than dancing.
Anything to take our minds off of waiting on Baby Coble at this point!!

Well folks, that's it for my pregnancy updates!
Next post will be to introduce our newest family member!
Think good thoughts for us and we'll keep you posted!

Like a mini watermelon...

Look what I just happened to come across at the grocery store today...

I next handed the mini watermelon to Bryan.
His response:
"I feel bad for you"

Ahhhhhh...come on baby!!!!!  Time to come out!
We are SOOOO ready to meet you!!

39 Weeks...no baby yet

I'm stumped.
Surely I thought baby would be here by now.
I saw one of my MUCH preferred doctors this week and she seemed optimistic that everything is ready to go, but perhaps I need to relax more.  The term "tired uterus" was used which seems somewhat made up, but indeed makes some sense.  I've had lots of braxton hicks and if I'm having too many of them it can "tire my uterus" and it won't have enough energy to jump start labor.
The solution...warm baths and rest.
I can do the warm bath thing, but I'm really bad about laying around not doing anything.  I'm compromising and going to the office every other day and working from home some.
Perhaps I should try the power of positive thought also.  Feel free to practice your positive thinking along with me and perhaps we can give this baby a birthday this weekend!!
Ok, ready...GO!

Size of baby: About 20 inches and a bit over 7lbs...like a mini watermelon...whaaaaaaat!  I hope it's a very mini watermelon!

What I miss:  I'm just going to go with bending over and not being a complete clutz!  I can't seem to hold onto anything lately, and then bending over to pick up my dropped keys or bowl of chopped onions I somehow tossed clear across the counter and smashed on the floor is even more of a challenge!!  All flexibility is gone.

Best Moment this week: Hmmm...I planted some pretty flowers on our deck on Easter, and Bryan and I have had some nice dinners and nights just the two of us lately.  It's easy to over look those, but I know our time of it being "just the two of us" is coming to an end and I cherish the little moments!

What baby likes AKA cravings: Cereal...corn pops this week to be specific!

Movement:  Still a lot less, but baby seems to move around a lot if I either sit out in the sun for a bit or take one of my warm baths.

Sleep:  Can we have a moment of silence for the sleep I used to enjoy...

Looking Forward to: Umm...the BABY COMING!!!  THIS WEEKEND, COME ON BABY!!!  You can do it!

Picture:  Here...I'm big, and looking rough.  It was requested I lose the cardigan in photos...I begrudgingly concede...

38 weeks! Tick Tock...tick...tock...

Well, here we are...week 38.
I'll be honest, a small part of me thought Baby Coble would be here by now, but I guess he/she's not done cooking yet.  I had my weekly doctors appointment and I came somewhat close to smacking the doctor who saw me, or at least giving him a piece of my mind.  See, at my practice you see all the doctors in the practice and whoever is on call the day you go into labor is the lucky winner to deliver your bundle of joy.  From what I understand a lot of OB offices operate this way now.  Let's just say we're hoping Dr. Bernstien isn't on call the night our little angel decides to come into the world.
Here's some highlights of our conversation yesterday:

Obnoxious Scenario #1
Me: I'm hoping I might be a little further along!
Dr. B: Hmmm, I think Dr. Bass was being a little generous last week saying you're at 2cm
Me: so you're telling me you're now TAKING AWAY cm's from me?!?!
Dr. B: I just think he was being generous

Obnoxious Scenario #2
Me: So is there anything I can be doing to help move things along like eating certain foods or walking more
Dr. B: Well, you've been walking around for 38 weeks now so I doubt that's going to do anything

Obnoxious Scenario #3
Me: I know you can't predict anything, but do you have any guesses as to what I might expect to happen
Dr. B: If I could tell you when your baby was going to come I could quit my job and make more money than the mega millions winner AND make a lot of pregnant women very happy!

Yea, you would have wanted to drop kick him also.  Somebody needs to clue Dr. Bernstien into the fact that a women who is 38 weeks pregnant tends to lack a sense of humor when discussing the arrival of her newborn.  Like I said, we're just hoping he's not on call.

Size of baby: 6.8 lbs and over 19.5 inches...like a leek!

What I miss:  Being able to consume whatever foods I want...I'll elaborate under cravings

Best Moment this week: Certainly NOT my dr's appointment.  I did have an amazing nights sleep on Tuesday night though, that was pretty wonderful, and desperately needed!

What baby likes AKA cravings:  All I have been wanting lately is a soft boiled egg mixed together with toast and butter and little salt and pepper!  YUM!  Also, I made a batch of cookies today because I had a big urge to bake for some reason and I SO badly wanted to lick the bowl clean of remaining cookie dough.  Unfortunately both of these items I'm not supposed to eat because of the raw egg factor.  Stupid.  I'm SO OVER all the food rules when preggo...and let's be honest, I really only obey a few of them anyway.

Movement:  Much less.  In fact there are days where I do start paying attention and counting the movement because the baby seems to be moving so much less, but he/she always makes their "kick count"

Sleep:  what is that again?  Do you mean those mini naps I take in between bathroom breaks?

Looking Forward to: eating anything and everything I want.  I'll start with raw egg products, then move on to sushi and wash it all down with a large glass of wine!
